Scouting the 62nd Bristol way…

Archive for the ‘News’

We are Christmas Number 1!

Congratulations to me! Oh and a few others from the 62nd Scouty type team who have been entering the Inn on The Green Quiz for the last 3 years or so.

We stormed into 1st place for the first time ever last Sunday night ~ which means that we are proudly Christmas Number One 2008!

It’s been a year of Champions – Cubs Hockey, Scouts overnight hiking and now IOTG quiz champions!

Go 62nd!

OFFICIAL: 62nd is ‘Good for You’

According to a recent survey 62nd Scout Troop is ‘good for you’, well in actual fact, happiness is good for you. But as we are such a happy place – stands to reason doesn’t it!?

As quoted – happiness ‘rubs off on others’. Where else can you find such an insanely jocund and jovial bunch of leaders!? Hey, even a stuffed toy cat is made to feel part of the family…

…Excpet all that was so tracgically undone by CP in a heinous crime involving a pair of scissors…

Stay happy folks!!

It’s Not Just any Money…

…it’s Marks and Spencer money!

Who say’s leaders don’t care! We have just spent 11 long hours (not all at once) packing bags and Autumn Fair-ing to raise money for you Scouts.

A massive thank you to all the leaders who helped us pack bags at Marks and Spencer today and last Thursday. Everyone we met were rather nice including all the Explorers we met from Solar Explorer Unit with whom we joined forces – very polite and smart – what is the world coming too!?

Of course thanks due to Marks and Spencer for letting us harangue them for two days, the boost to our funds is much appreciated. When we know how much it is…

Here we go then…

Full details available from the Scout Website.

August 2010

Ok, so it’s the worst kept secret ever in the history of 62nd Bristol. So strictly ‘off the record’ and this message will self distruct after reading it style; just to fill you in.

We are ‘in the process’ of planning a mega trip abroad in the summery month of August 2010. Yes, 2010.

It is the furthest we have ever been, ever… and yes it does involve Eastern Europe with a place begining with C. As nothing has been booked yet it would be foolish to release details, but we can certainly whet your appetites!

…as said last night at Scouts all those that were ‘in the room’ will ‘at the moment’ hopefully be able to go (as long as you are still in Scouting – i.e. moved onto Explorers!). So there – we love you that much to pull a few strings for you…

If ready, full details are being released in January 2009 ~ watch this space!

Lost your Bottle?

Urgent request for next week please…

Lots of bottles required for the bottle stall at Horfield Methodist Church Fair on the 22nd November. No alcoholic ones please…

Bring any to Scouts on Friday night ~ that’ll be the 21st then.

PhotobucketAs long as it’s not alcoholic we’re not fussy.
