Scouting the 62nd Bristol way…

Archive for the ‘Competition’

Scout winner!

…even if it was in an oversize sumo-style rugby strip!

Well done Jonty! There we were relaxing, enjoying the sunshine and merrily ignoring the half time entertainment on the Memorial Ground pitch, for Bristol Vs Rotherham, when all of a sudden we wents nuts. Running down the pitch in humerous costume in front of 4500 spectators was our very own Jonty. The crowd around us did seem to look at us…

Gurning

I not too sure if the 62nd Gurning Championship actually took place on Camp this year. However, little did we realise that the legend that is Michalea Strachan won the Female World Gurning Championships at Ergmont in 2002.

Start pulling those faces, ‘cos the championship will be sure to be held soon – if not repeated!

Easter Egg Hunting

The 62nd Website Easter Egg Hunt has taken the world by storm, with thousands of you trawling through the depths of 62ndbristol to find those elusive eggs.

Egg

Ok, three of you.

But, that’s three more than I thought would be interested! Congratulations to the three of you that have patiently explored the hundreds of pages to find the eggs, prizes on there way. I was amused by the comments recieved – “they weren’t easy to find” and “can i go to bed now!?”

Better buy some prizes then!

Closing date is Sunday night (19th April 09) 7:15pm.

Raving Celt

Is an anagram of something Scouty related…

A Lion Bar for the first person who can work it out by next week.

T-Shirt Design

Jersey Cow

We at 62nd have had a few t-shirts over the years, but the recent Jersey one has really captured the imagination of everyone who has seen it. Congratulations to those whom designed it, Izzy and Charlie I believe!

Anyway, the people very high up in Scouting offices have decided that a t-shirt should be designed for the whole movement. So here we go then, download the t-shirt template below and get designing. That cow could soon be seen everywhere!

T-shirt templete here.

Jersey Map

If you get your designs to us by mid-may then we’ll send them off for you. I don’t know what you win, but that’s not really the point is it. Ok, it’s £150 of vouchers and your t-shirt designed and worn by everybody!

MonkeysCan’t think of any famous wildlife photographers, but if you fancy yourself as one then take a good photo and why not enter… CLICK HERE there are categories for under 10’s and others for older people upto the age of 17. Entry must be by 31st March 08 – Good luck!

Ps. Taking photos of Scout leaders in unusual or embarrasing poses does not get classed as wildlife…
