Scouting the 62nd Bristol way…

Hope is in the Air

The repeat of Swansea mud from last year, should be a remote thing assigned to history, for this year at least. Weather forcasters, but is Dave one of them(!?), are predicting better weather for this year…

…except for one small part of Cornwall.

Dan gets Hitched

It was such a good day that it’s taken me until now to recover and enter something on the blog…

Glorious sunshine, spectacular setting, wonderful people, lovely ceremony and several Scout leaders looking very smart indeed.

Despite finding out that best man duties are indeed copious, it was a great honour! I finally relaxed about 2 in the morning, flopping down in front of a repeat of Britain’s Got Talent on an enormous TV.

Congratulations Dan and Rachel and thank you for a brilliant day.

Avon Scouting

Just had a newsletter from AvonScouts, I feel privelidged indeed:

Easter Egg Hunting

The 62nd Website Easter Egg Hunt has taken the world by storm, with thousands of you trawling through the depths of 62ndbristol to find those elusive eggs.

Egg

Ok, three of you.

But, that’s three more than I thought would be interested! Congratulations to the three of you that have patiently explored the hundreds of pages to find the eggs, prizes on there way. I was amused by the comments recieved – “they weren’t easy to find” and “can i go to bed now!?”

Better buy some prizes then!

Closing date is Sunday night (19th April 09) 7:15pm.

Daisy Dies a Painful Death

Caldicot 09Caldicot 09Caldicot 09

It was with great sadness that our most regarded Scout leader Daisy was shot today in front of a crowd of hundreds. Her crime? Originally was witchcraft, cries of she’s a witch rung out around Caldicot Castle, but alas, her fate lay in the hands of being a licentious woman. She was quickly hunted down, arrested and put hastily on trial. Her exposed feet and ankles up to her knees had already sealed her fate. She was to face the firing squad.

And so it was, as the shots echoed around Caldicot Castle, she fell dramatically and Shakespearanly (!?) to her death and all the while Jessica was enjoying the playpark, unaware of Daisy’s demise.

Two strapping young lads sauntered across to the limp body and dragged it off to lay peacefully to rest.

Mor photos can be witnessed here.

Smart!

I must congratulate Dan and Rachel in advance.

You see, a few of us Scout Leaders got kitted out in our clobber yesterday. How smart did we look! Quite impressive collection of Socut Leaders in one place all with clothes that fit properly for a change!! And none of it creased by the addition of a tent…

On top of that I hear other leadery types have invested in new suits and new outfits. Can’t wait to get a photo of everyone!
